WELCOME

WE ARE A PEOPLE AND A PLACE OF HOPE AND HEALING

We invite you to join our vibrant, family-friendly Christian fellowship as we passionately participate in prayer, worship and wholistic ministry in the most diverse community in Philadelphia…so that our God can be exalted! Empowered by the Holy Spirit, our mission is to share in word and action Christ’s message of love that reconciles us to God and neighbor.

RECONCILING

Our foundation is built on the reconciling power of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We seek to be a healing balm among our members and in our community. We place our lives, families, vocations and perspectives in God’s hands to be transformed.

MULTIETHNIC

Our identity in Jesus Christ compels us to extend His saving power to all nations, cultures and peoples. We believe that Christ is our foundation and we are one in Christ as we submit everything to Him. We seek to demonstrate this through celebrating each others’ culture in accordance with the Scriptures.

COMMUNITY

We seek to go beyond family, ethnic, cultural and language ties to live as a diverse family that is a work in progress. We attempt to reflect this through our corporate worship, fellowship, leadership, ministries and sharing our homes with one another.

SERVING WITH TRUTH & GRACE

MINISTRY AREAS

Our Leadership Team administers various ministries throughout the church.

Prayer is vital to the heath and mission of our congregation. We include prayer in our Sunday morning gatherings, weekly Growth Groups as well as encourage each and every household to be houses of prayer. We dedicate Wednesdays to Prayer at OCMC, with a morning and noontime prayer gathering at the church.

The Worship Team leads the congregation in worship every Sunday. They meet several times per month for practices on Sunday mornings before the service. A retreat for fellowship, growth, skill development and vision casting happens toward the end of February each year. Training is available!

We desire to see our children grow in their understanding of who God is and His love for them, as well as in their relationships with others in the church.

Throughout the year, we offer several 8-week Emotionally Healthy Spirituality and Discipleship courses to help our congregation develop spiritual disciplines and discipleship practices. In our desire for continued spiritual growth in the summer, we have short 4 week Bible studies on Sunday mornings on a specific topic. On Wednesdays, we have a 6:30am prayer time for men and a weekly noon prayer time for anyone. In addition, we have a weekly women’s Bible study, a leadership discipleship group and a fasting period very year for the month of January.

This ministry consist of four areas:

  • Greeting Team: Welcomes visitors and regular attendees to our church, helping them to feel comfortable and included.

  • Fellowship Meals: Set-up preparation, food preparation, sign-up coordination and clean-up involving large group meals.
  • Special Events: Plan, host, or serve events such as baby showers and other church celebrations.
  • Soup Kitchen: On Saturday morning every few months, our church operates a Soup Kitchen at St. Marks Church at 4442 Frankford Ave.
